About the Film

After Hurricane Sandy, Jamaica Bay, the largest open space in New York City, became a garbage dump, and the government was doing nothing about it. But the New Yorkers were resilient, taking the fate of the Bay into their own hands. Narrated by Academy-Award winning actress Susan Sarandon, Saving Jamaica Bay underscores the importance of citizen action and the role of urban nature in protecting our cities from the effects of climate change.
