In celebration of World Horseshoe Crab Day, the WCFF partners with the National Park Service, US Fish & Wildlife Service and the Jamaica Bay Rockaway Parks Conservancy. A morning hike at 09:00 with NPS guides to look for, photograph, film and study horseshoe crabs. Afternoon screening at 2:00 pm of films related to horseshoe crabs and other native wildlife of the refuge, followed by panel discussion with Q&A.

The WCFF in partnership with each organization announces a short film (under 5 minutes) competition, open to residents of New York City and the surrounding region.  Up to 25 short films will be screened at the 9th annual WCFF, taking place October 17-27, 2019 at the Cinema Village Theater in the West Village.
